Interns will have the opportunity to engage in both direct practice (Micro) and systemic change (Macro) initiatives, ensuring a well-rounded experience.
Micro Level Internships
At the Micro level, interns will be immersed in direct practice with individuals and families, focusing on personalized assessments and treatment. Areas of work include:
- Suicide prevention and intervention
- Support for immigrants and refugees
- Anti-human trafficking efforts
Micro Level Internships
Macro level internships will involve students in program evaluation, community center development, and policy advocacy, allowing them to contribute to:
- Creating SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound) goals for community centers
- Assisting with the organization's fall fundraising gala
- Influencing policy to enact positive changes in the welfare system
Combined Micro and Macro Experience
Interns will have the unique opportunity to integrate their Micro and Macro learning by participating in projects that demand both direct and systemic approaches. This dual exposure ensures that interns not only understand the complexities of individual cases but also the broader social systems affecting those cases.
