About Us

The History Of Houston Strong

Houston Strong Children Services is established as a nonprofit organization founded in 2018, shortly after Hurricane Harvey. We became a Child Placing Agency in 2018 licensed with The Texas Department of Family & Protective Services to license foster and adoptive families.

Houston Strong Children Services main goal is to serve the under-served communities by creating a Community Based Care Approach and provide continuous support and resources to our children and foster and adoptive families.

Houston Strong Child Placing Agency helps families become licensed foster families, kinship families, and adopt children from ages 0-22. We provide placement for Basic, Moderate, Specialized, Intense, PMN, and Child Specific Contracts. We offer Straight Adoption services, Foster to Adopt and Fostering licensure to prospective families.

Our Story

In 2017, as Hurricane Harvey unleashed its fury on Houston, a small yet determined group of individuals gathered in a modest garage, united by a common purpose: to aid the most vulnerable victims of this unprecedented disaster – the children. Houston Strong Children Services was born out of this collective resolve, embodying the indomitable spirit of a city known for its resilience and community solidarity.

Our Mission

The mission of our organization is: to commit to serve the community by providing direct care services for foster children, to provide a safe and stable home for at risk youth as well as children that have been abused or neglected, and to service under-served populations that require medical and mental health assistance.

Our Vision

Our vision is to strengthen the community in Houston and the surrounding areas by providing direct care for children and resources for families. Our goals are to meet the immediate displacement needs, to stabilize families and provide resources for crisis situations, and to fill both short term and long term needs for at risk youth.
