My name is Reginae Brown, and I am currently pursuing my Master of Social Work at Tulane University with a focus area of collective trauma. My passion for social work stems from a deep desire to help others, but I also believe that making a true impact requires integrity, compassion, and a genuine commitment to the people we serve. Unfortunately, negative stereotypes exist about the field due to certain experiences people have had with social workers. My goal is to challenge these misconceptions by embodying the values of ethical, effective, and empathetic social work while making a meaningful difference in people’s lives. Through my internship, I hope to strengthen my ability to intervene effectively, navigate conflicts with clients, and apply culturally sensitive interventions tailored to individual needs. I am set to graduate August of 2025, and I am excited to begin a lifetime of service, support and advocacy.
