A motivated student from the University of Texas at Arlington pursuing a master’s in social work with a concentration in community and administrative practice. Her interest in policy analysis and serving communities influenced her decision to pursue a career path in macro social work. Her role as an intern with Houston Strong will help her strengthen the skills and competencies needed to promote social justice, improve the well-being of communities through the development and implementation of programs, and advocate for policy change. In her free time, Karla enjoys going on long walks and working on arts & crafts projects.
